Artist Statement
I film, direct, and edit videos and short films to evoke various feelings from others. The visual elements in film and the music choices that coincide with them introduce viewers to an assortment of different ideas and emotions. My work mostly stems from music, a medium that can stimulate human emotions, whether it is the rhythm, beat, lyrics, or some combination of all three. I compose visual elements with video editing tools to create a story. I aim to elicit different emotions from the viewers, such as glee, devastation, and curiosity. While doing so, I create an aesthetically pleasing experience. What sets my film and videography apart from others is my process. I listen to music and determine the emotions I feel while listening. Once I establish the tone of the song, I create a theme, a story, or an aesthetic to bring to life.

My work can range from a piece with a full script, or it limits dialogue and highlights imagery to encourage the viewer to discover their own meaning. My work does not stop at film. I also do color photography, new media photography, and digital art. All of these art mediums and techniques aid in my improvement in filmmaking. By experimenting with different filming and editing techniques, I conjure unique narratives and themes. For each work, I utilize a variety of components including props, clothing, setting, figure movement, and most importantly, music.
